Who is the BAS Supervision Program for?
Our program is designed for independent bookkeepers who want to become registered BAS agents.
You run your own bookkeeping business, service your own clients, and we provide the supervision and compliance oversight required by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).
How does BAS supervision work?
You’ll receive:
• Access to templates and workflows for BAS preparation and compliance
• A BAS provision hours tracking spreadsheet to log your 1,000 hours
• Communication via Zoom, email, phone, and Google Chat for reviews and questions
How does invoicing and revenue work?
You bill your clients directly and keep 100% of your bookkeeping revenue. BAS Advisory Group charges you for supervision fees only.
Any lodgement fees charged to the client are billed and retained by the supervising BAS agent.
What makes BAS Advisory Group different?
We’ve been through the process ourselves and understand the real-world challenges of gaining BAS hours while running a small business.
Our focus is on making supervision practical, compliant, and supportive — not just ticking boxes.
Do I need to have my own clients?
To gain the practical experience required by the TPB, you need to be servicing your own clients.
If you’re just starting out and still building your client base, we can offer guidance on how to find clients, and can even help you obtain them!
How are my BAS hours tracked?
You’ll use our tracking spreadsheet (or your own time-tracking software) to record all hours worked on BAS-related tasks.
Who owns the client relationship?
You do! You continue to communicate directly with your clients. We only contact your client if you’ve given written consent
Do I need insurance?
Yes. You must maintain your own Professional Indemnity insurance as required by the TPB. This protects both you and your clients
Is there a contract term?
No. We offer a flexible month-to-month arrangement. You’re free to join or leave as needed.
